BARANGAY TAROSANAN
Brief History
An entry in the geological index of the Church of the Latter Day Jesus Christ websites states that in the year 1768 was a certain Manuel Andres Sacramento, whose parents are Manuel Salvador (born on 1736 at Tarosanan) and Maria Sacramento.
Based on this data, in the year 1736, Barangay Tarosanan already existed, but no living informant can tell the exact foundation date.
According to the testimony of some elders, the name ‘TAROSANAN’ came from the word “TAROSAN NA DALAN” and “TAROSAN NA SOLONG”, a small pathway and a small creek connecting ‘Tarosanan na Sadit’, a barangay of Camaligan, Camarines Sur to ‘Tarosanan na Dakula’, a barangay of Milaor, Camarines Sur
They called the Barangay Tarosanan of Camaligan as ‘Tarosanan na Sadit’ because the Spanish Priest who stayed in this barangay was small (“sadit”) while thhat one in Tarosanan, Milaor was big (“dakula”), so they called it ‘Tarosanan na Dakula’.
